Driver In DUI Crash That Killed 13-Year-Old Charged With Vehicular Homicide
(Memphis) The 27-year-old who admitted to drinking a large vodka before a crash that killed a 13-year-old Germantown Middle School student has been charged.
Quincy Johnson was charged with one count of vehicular homicide and two counts of vehicular assault Monday.
The wreck happened at Hacks Cross and Meadow Vale Drive early Sunday.
Deputies say the 27-year-old drove across three lanes of traffic and straight into into the path of a Ford Tempo with two adults, an 18-month-old, and 13-year-old Hezekiah Keyon Moss inside.
Johnson’s breathalyzer test registered .083, just over the .08 DUI limit.
He said he had been to the A-Game Restaurant and Bar at Winchester and Ross roads before the crash.
Officers said he had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and was unsteady on his feet.
Hezekiah’s family is dealing with their loss, and plan to talk about in a news conference Monday evening.
