Historic Church Burns in Early AM Fire

(Earle, AR) The Holy Temple church in Earle, Arkansas reportedly burned to the ground early Saturday in a fire which witnesses said, started about 6:30 in the morning.

The church building, which is more than one hundred years old, once housed the Presbyterian Church in Earle.

Witnesses tell WREG most people think a power surge may have sparked the fire.

Power had reportedly been out for several hours, and the flames popped up within minutes after power was restored.

People in the town say the fire was extremely large, and left the church building in ashes.
