High Speed Chase On Highway 61Ends In Crash

(Tunica County, MS) The Mississippi Highway Patrol took part in a high-speed chase Friday morning.

The chase started in Clarksdale after two men robbed a 75-year-old man at gunpoint then took his car and took off.

Clarksdale Police tried but were unable to stop the vehicle.

The chase went up Highway 61 where speeds reportedly topped 100 miles per hour.

The chase ended just north of the City of Tunica where the suspect lost control of the vehicle and wrecked.

Three people were taken into custody and could be charged with Armed Robbery and Grand Larceny.

The driver of the vehicle could also be charged with The Felony Eluding of a Law Enforcement Officer.
