(Memphis) A pair of house fires kept Memphis firefighters busy early Friday.

One fire broke out around 3:45 a.m. at a house in the 1300 block of Mississippi Blvd. south of Trigg Ave.

The man who lived there was able to get out OK. He told us that he believes the fire was caused by a candle that was left burning after he went to sleep.

The other fire started around 12:30 a.m. and damaged an abandoned duplex in the 1300 block of Michigan St. near South Parkway & South 3rd St.

The cause of that fire is under investigation.

There were no injuries reported at either fire scene.
