(Memphis) It won’t be long until many of us will be running the heat full-time in our homes.

MLGW and The Tennessee Valley Authority want to make sure this winter you save as much money as possible on your utility bills.

Over the summer, they launched eScore, a new home energy improvement program.

eScore makes it easier and cheaper for homeowners to work toward a perfect score of 10 in their home to save energy and ultimately money.

Under the old home energy evaluation program, you would have to fill out paperwork and wait up to thirty days to get rebates to make repairs to your home.

Now, certified contractors are trained to give eligible homeowners an instant rebate when they do the work.

You can also spread out the work that needs to be done and take advantage of even more savings.

“The previous program in-home energy evaluation it was a one-time program, a maximum of a $500 rebate. So, you had to pick or chose the item you wanted to get done and then you are done with the program. There were no more rebates available. Now, there is a rebate every time you go in and use a contractor that is certified,” said Tom Chamberlain with MLGW.

To register for the program or find a contractor from the Quality Contractor Network click here.

Or if you don’t know where to start you canĀ  call 1-855-237-2673 to register and schedule an energy evaluation of your home for a $75 fee.
