Teen From Tennessee Charged With Teacher Murder In Massachusetts

(Danvers, MA) A teenager, originally from Clarksville, Tennessee, has been charged with killing a Danvers, Massachusetts high school teacher

Jonathan Blodgett, Essex County District Attorney, said 24-year-old Colleen Ritzer, a math teacher, was found dead in the woods behind the school early Wednesday morning.

Blodgett said it was, “apparent she was a homicide victim.”

Tuesday night, a 14-year-old student was reported missing.

Investigators say the teen had recently moved to the area from Tennessee.

Several hours after the missing persons report was filed, Ritzer, a math teacher was reported missing.

Blood was found inside a bathroom on the school’s second floor.

An hour after the blood was found, the 14-year-old was found walking on a main road in a nearby town.

Ritzer’s body was eventually found in some woods behind the school.

Blodget told WBZ-TV, “We have no reason to believe any other suspects are involved.”
