(Olive Branch, MS) Closure Systems International will be shutting its doors in December, two weeks before Christmas.

One hundred jobs will be lost.

After 17 years at the CSI plant, Ruby Millbrooks couldn't believe the news.

"They came to us an told us there was going to be a layoff, but after that they came back and said we were closing and all of us were really kind of devastated," Millbrooks said.

The company that makes bottle caps will close December 9th.

"It's going to affect me greatly because I'm older now and now I have to get back out there," Millbrooks said.

We tried to find out from their national office in Indianapolis why they were closing, but they didn't get back to us.

The Olive Branch Chamber of Commerce did and confirmed the closing date.

What's made the announcement so surprising to some the recent business boom in Olive Branch..

Six weeks ago the new Methodist Hospital opened, and just last week the Governor was in town for the opening of Teleflex.

"Olive branch is really booming you have different plants coming...so it's a shock," Millbrooks said.

A shock and disappointment that as the year comes to an end so will paychecks for these CSI workers.

"I mean it's life. I mean things happen. We are just praying for the best," employee Gayle Hughes said.

Some employees told us the company is trying to relocate them to other branches. Others said the company is working with the job center to organize job fairs.
