(Memphis) Joyce Kimball is now warning parents in the Orange Mound area after her three nieces said they were nearly abducted Thursday while walking to school.
“She had dirt here, she had a little torn spot right here and he back pack was dirty dusty,” said Kimball.
Her nieces are 11, 12 and 13.
They were walking just a few blocks away to Sherwood Middle School.
She says four men in a light blue car pulled up, one got out and grabbed the 12-year-old by her hair.
“The 13-year-old, she was the one who hit the guy in the face,” Kimball said, describing how the girls were able to escape.
The girls then ran to Kimball’s house, and she called police.
MPD have not said if they have any suspects in the case.
The girls were not physically injured but were shaken emotionally.
Kimball was upset, too, and said she will never let the girls walk to school alone again.
“They could’ve shot them, strangled them to death, took them somewhere, beat them, choked them and raped them,” said Kimball.
Shelby County Schools said they were calling parents of Sherwood Middle School to alert them of the incident.
