(Memphis) A woman is in fair condition after being shot six times outside Halle Stadium.

It happened just as a football game and vigil for a Ridgeway High student were wrapping up Thursday night.

Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies say 24-year-old Monique Smith was inside her car in the parking lot when her ex-boyfriend pulled up behind her, got out of his vehicle, and then shot her.

"He initially walked around to the driver's side and pulled out a gun and shot at least twice through the driver's side, striking her, and then walked over to the passenger side and fired several shots, striking her several more times," said Chip Washington with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

We are told 29-year-old Walton ran from the scene, but was captured by deputies and police behind the stadium.

They also recovered a .45 caliber handgun.

Smith had a restraining order against Walton, who has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Court records show Walton also had an order of protection filed against him back in 2010.
