(Memphis) Police rushed to a Cordova townhouse Monday morning after a woman called 911 and said her husband Freddie Armstrong choked her until she blacked out.

WREG obtained a court document, which states the two fought because Armstrong wanted to watch the morning news and her husband didn’t.

Leslie Vanlandingham lives two doors down.

She saw police at the home and worried something had gone wrong.

Mrs. Armstrong is a cancer patient, currently undergoing therapy.

She told officers, “Fred had his hands around my neck. I was afraid he was going to cut off the circulation to my catheter”

Mr. Armstrong worked for juvenile court.

A captain seized his badge and gun.

According to court documents, Armstrong denied choking his wife but was still arrested while officers work to get to the bottom of all this.
