Sex Offender Robs Women At Nail Salon
(Memphis) A known sex offender and accused nail salon robber was captured weeks after holding up a nail salon on Madison Avenue.
Ebony Marshall is in custody for the crime, and you can bet workers at Nina’s Nails are glad to hear that.
There were three women working in that nail salon the day of the robbery, and they are lucky the man only got away with cash and one of their cellphones
“I have been coming here for over 20 years now,” said Tawanda Holmes.
“I get in and out real quick,” said another customer. “It’s just comfortable for me.”
But for the last two weeks, things have been really uncomfortable for the people who work there.
“He had a knife and stuck it at one of the girl’s throats,” said Minh Tong, a nail technician.
Tong wasn’t there that day.
In fact, he says no men were there and that may be why a robber decided he could come right in, put a knife to one of the women’s throats, and get away with cash.
“One girl, she got scared and she ran to the alarm keypad and hit the keypad and he grabbed her phone, took the phone and ran off,” said Tong.
Two weeks later, police say they’ve got their man: Ebony Marshall, a man with a long rap sheet.
He’s been arrested 38 times for everything from assault, theft, burglary, offensive touching, violating a protection order, burglary, evading arrest, vandalism, aggravated rape, 13 different indecent exposure offensives and violating the sex offender registry.
“Were you guys worried when he was out on the streets that he would come back?” asked reporter Sabrina Hall.
“Definitely. Definitely. I am the only guy here,” said Tong.
Tong says it’s the nail salon’s security camera that captured the career criminal on tape.
“They took the camera down to the lab and zoomed it in, or whatever they do, and they got a picture of the guy,” said Tong. “Police did a great job.”
Nina’s Nails says it’s now adding security camera’s to the outside and back of the nail salon.
For now, they don’t have to worry about the accused robber coming back.
A judge has set Marshall’s bail at $100,000.
