(Memphis) An attempted robbery turned into an exchange of gunfire early Thursday evening at a busy shopping center at 1977 South Third Street.

Both the would-be robber and the intended victim were hit.

Witnesses say the attempted robbery was drug related.

Police found one shooting victim still at the scene, sitting in a car.

The second shooting victim was found a short time later at Webb and South Parkway when police say they stopped the vehicle the victim was in.
