Power Outage Affects Thousands in Memphis

(Memphis)  Thousands of MLGW customers in Memphis woke up without power early Tuesday.

The utility says around 6,700 customers in the downtown and Frayser areas lost power around 4:40 a.m.

Power was restored shortly before 9:30 a.m.

On Twitter, MLGW explained that the outage was caused by a raccoon that got into one of its substations, damaging four circuits.
