Arrest Made in Deadly Shooting

(Memphis) Shelby County deputies have made an arrest in Monday night’s deadly shooting north of Raleigh.

22-year-old Darius Alexander is being held without bail on first degree murder charges.

Deputies say he was one of six people involved in the shooting death of 21-year-old Lapier Mitchell.

Mitchell was shot and killed Monday night in the 4500 block of Harvest Valley Drive.

According to an affidavit, Alexander told deputies that he and the other suspects came to the neighborhood with plans to rob someone.

Deputies say Mitchell was shot after approaching one of the men.
