Thief Stuffs Meat Into Pants

(Bartlett, TN) Two men were arrested after detectives witnessed one hiding meat in his pants at a Kroger.

On Sunday, an Area Law Enforcement Retailers Team (ALERT) detective noticed a man having trouble with the checkout scanner at a Kroger.

Outside, the detective saw the man taking items from his pants and putting them in the backseat of a Chevy truck.

The two men then drove to another Kroger, where detectives saw the original suspect stuff meat down his pants and then leave the store without paying.

He put the meat in a cooler in the truck, and the two men drove away.

Detectives then stopped them and searched the truck.

Both men admitted to their roles in the thefts.

Jerry White, 39, and Charles Dixon, 45, were arrested and charged with theft of property valued between $500 and $1,000.
