WREG Scores Another Big Sweeps Victory In July
(Memphis) Preliminary household results released today by Nielsen Media Research show that WREG News Channel 3 has the most watched newscasts in Memphis in virtually all local news time periods as measured during the July survey period.
At 4:30 a.m., WREG wins with a 2.6 rating/8 share. Second place was shared by Fox 13 and WMC which have a 1.2 rating/4 share.
Winning for WREG continues at 5 a.m. where the station has a 3.7 rating/11 share. Second place WMC has a 2.3 rating/7 share; Fox 13 has a 2 rating/6 share. Local 24 News has a 0.8 rating/2 share.
At 6 a.m., WREG wins again with an 6.4 rating/17 share, second place WMC has a 4.5 rating/12 share, Fox 13 has a 3.4 rating/9 share, and ABC 24 News has a 0.9 rating/ 2 share.
WREG’s Live at 9 beats Fox 13’s Good Morning Memphis. WREG has a 4.6 rating/10 share, Fox has a 4.2 rating/10 share. WMC airs the Today Show is in third place with a 3.8 rating/9 share.
At noon, WREG wins by a near two-to-one margin over second place. WREG scores a 7.6 rating/16 share vs. WMC’s 3.9 rating/8 share.
At 4 p.m., WREG takes the victory with a 6.0 rating/11 share vs. WMC’s 3.7 rating/7 share.
At 5 p.m., WREG wins with a 7.0 rating/12 share. Second place WMC has a 6.1 rating/11 share, Fox 13 has a 4.2 rating/7 share and Local 24 News has a 1.5 rating/3 share.
Only at 6 p.m. did WREG come in second place, and even at that, the margin of separation was slim and audience share was tied. At 6 p.m., WREG has a 7.5 rating/13 share vs. WMC’s 8.0 rating/13 share. Local 24 News has a 1.7 rating/3 share.
At 10 p.m. WREG wins with an 11.3 rating/17 share, second place WMC has a 7.7 rating/12 share, Fox 13 has a 3.1 rating/5 share and LOCAL 24 News has a 1.4 rating/2 share.
Additionally, WREG won every weekend local news time period and won the Friday 10:15 sports show, defeating WMC substantially.
