Man Charged in Double Shooting

(Memphis)  Memphis Police have arrested a man in connection with Wednesday morning’s double shooting in the Highland Heights neighborhood.

20-year-old Marquaveous Jones is facing attempted first degree murder, especially aggravated robbery and especially aggravated burglary charges.

He’s being held without bail at the Shelby County Jail. He’s scheduled to be in court on Friday.

According to a police affidavit, Jones confessed to shooting two men at a house in the 3100 block of Faxon Ave. around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Both men were taken to the MED. Police say one of the men, who was shot seven times in the back, is in extremely critical condition and may not survive.
