Ole Miss Suspends Top Player
(Oxford, MS) Ole Miss guard Marshall Henderson has been suspended indefinitely for violation of team rules, the school announced Wednesday.
CBS Sports is reporting that the suspension is related to a failed drug test.
“Since the season ended, we have talked a lot about Marshall taking a greater leadership role with our team. With that comes greater responsibility, and he must do a better job of living up to the high standard we expect from him and he desires from himself,” said Ole Miss head coach Andy Kennedy.
A senior from Hurst, Texas, Henderson started 33 games for the Rebels in 2012-13, averaging 20.1 points and helping the team to the SEC Tournament Championship and an NCAA third-round appearance in his first season in Oxford.
