Watch Fireworks On The Riverfront

The Riverfront Development Corporation and WREG – News Channel 3 are proud to present the 2013 Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular at Mud Island River Park on Thursday, July 4th.

Help us celebrate Independence Day with a fun-filled family event at Mud Island River Park. WREG meteorologist Jim Jaggers will be the emcee.

Visitors can enjoy all the offerings of the park throughout the day, including the Mississippi River Museum, the Riverwalk, pedal boat, canoe, kayak and bicycle rentals, and kiddie rides and games. Then stay late for the festivities, which include live music from the The Andy Childs Band beginning at 7 p.m. on the Southfield.

The park will remain open until the conclusion of the fireworks display, which is set to begin at twilight or around 9:45 p.m.

Parking is available in the Mud Island Parking Garage (on Front St. at Poplar Ave.) and visitors can ride the Monorail for $4 or walk across the Walk Bridge free of charge.

Blankets, picnic baskets, and lawn chairs are welcome. Food and drink concessions will be available. NO PETS, PERSONAL FIREWORKS, ALCOHOL, or GRILLS allowed in the park.

*Mud Island River Park will open at 10 a.m.
*Activities will begin at 6 p.m.
*Fireworks display will start at 9:45 p.m.
