(Millington) A Millington man accused of raping a 14-year-old girl is in jail. Police say 20-year-old Sean Hood met the teen online and showed up at her house.
Police say it started with instant messaging on a website called www.meetme.com.
But police say when Hood started sending her dirty messages, she didn't want to talk anymore. That's when authorities say hood showed up to her Millington home.
According to court documents, Hood convinced the girl to come inside his car to talk. The girl claims when she got in, he grabbed her by the hair and forced her head into his lap. Police say that at the same time, Hood hit the girl repeatedly with a hair brush.
“It’s very shocking. Just very, very sad,” said Hood’s neighbor, Bob Slawinski.
Slawinski lives across the street from Hood and his parents.
“They are very religious and whatever happened over there, they were very concerned and very sad about the whole situation," he said.
Police say they tracked down Hood after the girl called 911 and told her family about what happened.
Hood's neighbors saw all the police, but didn’t imagine Hood was accused of something like this.
“I raised my two sons and they are outstanding and I always told them there are penalties to pay and apparently he is going to pay a penalty," one neighbor said.
If convicted, that penalty will be prison time.
Hood is still in jail on a $40,000 bond. His next court date is June 17th.
