Two Dead Following Violent Night in Memphis

(Memphis)  Memphis Police detectives are investigating a series of violent incidents overnight that left two people dead and sent three people to the hospital.

In Westwood, police say they found a 28-year-old woman’s body around 4 a.m. Friday in the 3600 block of Weaver Road near Fields.

Witnesses told police that the woman was shot by a person in an unidentified vehicle. The woman had been a passenger in the car and had just gotten out when the shooting happened.

In Parkway Village, a 29-year-old man is dead after a shooting at the Ten Mile Creek Apartments near American Way and Getwell. This happened just before 2 a.m. Friday.

Police say the man had been involved in an altercation with another man just before the shooting happened. The man died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

In South Memphis, police are investigating a triple shooting near the old Defense Depot.

Police say three people were shot outside a house on Ketchum Road west of Airways around 11 p.m. Thursday.

All three victims were taken to the MED with minor injuries.
