(Memphis) A one year old boy is recovering at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital after being run over by an SUV.

Police say the child's mother was behind the wheel.

It happened Wednesday night in the parking lot of the Brother's Food Market on Alcy in South Memphis.

Store surveillance video shows there were several other children in the car and that baby was not in a car seat.

In the video, you can see the mother back out of her spot, the back door open up and the baby fall out.

Police say the mother panicked when her other children yelled at her about what had just happened and backed over the boy.

A friend of the mother told us the woman has several children and would never do anything to hurt them.

"I just hope that she will be alright and the baby will be alright because everybody makes mistakes and it was an accident," said Jennifer Washington.

Washington says the boy's grandmother said the baby was expected to recover.

Police say the baby was not in a car seat.

So far, no charges have been filed against the mother.
