The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has shaved a lot of counties off a Tornado Watch which is active until 10pm tonight.
The News Channel 3 viewing area is in a slight risk zone for severe weather this evening.
A ‘slight risk’ means that while there probably will be storms in the area, they will likely be scattered and less intense than in a ‘moderate’ or ‘high’ risk zone.
For example, the Oklahoma City area was under in a high risk zone before yesterday’s powerful storms.
Right now, it does not appear that the storms headed for the Mid-South late this afternoon and this evening will be as powerful or as widespread as those across the plains states yesterday.
