Lefty to make another trip to Memphis
Memphis, TN-Phil Mickelson, whose daring shot-making skill and engaging personality have made him a favorite of golf galleries worldwide, has committed to play in the FedEx St. Jude Classic, June 3-9, at TPC Southwind.
The four-time winner of major championships, including three Masters Tournaments, and recent inductee into the World Golf Hall of Fame, will be making his third appearance in the FESJC and first since 2009.
“What can you say that hasn’t already been said about Phil Mickelson,” said FESJC tournament director Phil Cannon. “He’s one of the all-time greats in our sport, and we’re ecstatic that he’s chosen to play our tournament again.”
The 43-year-old Mickelson, who plays golf left-handed but is otherwise right-handed, has won 41 PGA TOUR events, and is second on golf’s career money list with about $70 million in earnings.
