(Memphis) Two Memphis in May BBQ fest teams are combining their love for BBQ and the a Memphis Grizzlies.

Grill and Grind is one BBQ fest team of Memphians.

“Huge Grizzlies fans, all of us live in Memphis and we go to the playoff games,” said team member Russell Jackson.

Jackson said the team is not a band wagon playoff team of fans.

The team came up with the name last summer.

“Obviously with our team name and our team logo which is a grizzly bear, everybody was extra pumped,” said Jackson.

Across the park, the award winning team The People’s Republic of Swina is wearing shirts this year with the slogan “Believe Swina.”

The team held a Grizz watch party at BBQ fest Wednesday night.

“It was wild. People were going crazy and throwing things when it didn’t go our way, when the referees were not doing what they should be doing, ” said Swina team member Kyle Rogers.

Swina also created their shirts long before the Grizzlies started their successful play off run.

Both teams plan on grinding out the competition on the grill while representing the Grizz. And both hope they will get a lucky visit from a Grizzly.

“If Tony Allen came by I would probably faint,” added Jackson.
