Police Investigate Robbery of Two College Students

(Memphis) Police are investigating a robbery of two LeMoyne Owen College Students just blocks from campus.

Memphis police say around 12:30a.m. Tuesday, a group of men attacked and robbed the students who were jogging at the intersection of Mississippi and Saxon.

It’s the latest in a series of mob style attacks in the city.

Police arrested two cousins, Lecedric Crawford and Marvin Chatman for this attack.

According to reports, Chatman says he didn’t rob the students, only fought them.

Crawford claims Chatman planned to rob the two of their cell phones.

Chatman and Crawford are the only two charged because the victims say they’re the only men who hit and robbed them.

According to the report, one of the victims was wearing a gold chain with a big medallion, which may have made him a target.

Crawford and Chatman head to court later this month.
