(Memphis) A Memphis man is asking for the public's help finding the thieves he says stole his independence.

Hilliard Moore says last month, someone got on to the lot of the Campaige Place Apartments and took the trailer he uses to transport his powered chair.

The 4 x 7 black, mesh trailer was still attached to his SUV.

Moore has diabetes and arthritis in his knees.

He says without the chair he wouldn't be able to leave his apartment and without the trailer he can't really leave the apartment complex, "I felt independent. Now I don't feel too independent."

Surveillance cameras at the complex captured the thieves leaving the complex.

They were driving a red or burgundy GMC Sonoma with a Mississippi tag.

Moore say two years ago thieves stole a similar trailer.

He can't afford to replace this one and is hoping someone knows something that can help police, "I don't want to prosecute anyone I just want my trailer."
