12 Shot In A New Orleans Mother’s Day Celebration

(New Orleans, LA) At least 12 people were shot in New Orleans during a Mother’s Day second line parade through the Seventh Ward.

NOPD police say a 10-year-old girl was one of the injured, receiving a bullet graze wound to her side. Three of the injured are in critical condition.

Several others were shot in the arms and legs, and no fatalities are being reported at this time.

CBS affiliate WWL-TV reports there were 200 people at the corner where shots rang out, and 300 to 400 people at the second line in all.

Second line parades are brass band musical processions traditional in New Orleans.

Police are looking for three suspects, one of which was described the suspect as a dark skin male, 18-22 years old with short hair, a white shirt and blue jeans. All suspects are still on the loose

There is no word yet on motive in the shooting.
