(Memphis)  Memphis Police are investigating a series of shootings overnight that left a South Memphis man dead and put a North Memphis man in the hospital.

Around 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, police say a 23-year-old man was shot during an attempted armed robbery in the 1600 block of East McLemore Ave.

He was taken to the MED in critical condition — but he later died.

Police are looking for two suspects who were seen leaving the area in a dark colored SUV.

Then, around 2 a.m. Thursday, a second man was shot in the 2300 block of Golden Ave. near Chelsea and Hollywood.

Family members told News Channel 3 that he came to their door, bleeding heavily and looking for help. He told his uncle that he’d been shot by a man who was trying to rob him.

He was taken to the MED in serious condition.

Police say the suspect was last seen in a lime green Dodge Charger.

Anyone with information on either of these crimes should call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
