Oklahoma City, OK-Oklahoma City’s all-star forward Kevin Durant took over for the Thunder in the final minutes of their opening game against Memphis and led the Thunder to a 93-91 victory. Durant knocked down six of the Thunder’s final seven buckets as part of his game-high 35 points.

Oklahoma City’s sharpshooter off the bench, Kevin Martin, scored 25 points. No one else did much for the Thunder, but Oklahoma City didn’t need them.

The Grizzlies continue to ride their big men, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. Each had a double-double on Sunday. Gasol had 20 points and ten rebounds. Randolph put up 18 and 10, but the Grizzlies got very little from their backcourt. The Grizzlies still led by as many as 12 in the third quarter and took a nine point lead into the fourth before struggling down the stretch. Both teams shot poorly from the field and the Grizzlies missed ten free throws.
