(Newark, NJ) The FBI has placed a woman on the most wanted terrorists list for the first time.
Joanne Chesimard was convicted in the 1970’s for the murder of a New Jersey state trooper.
Officials say she escaped from prison and fled to Cuba.
The FBI says a trooper pulled her over for a faulty tail light in 1973.
He was shot and killed execution-style.
Chesimard’s trial was delayed for four years because she was pregnant.
She was convicted in 1977 and escaped shortly after.
The FBI says she was a member of the Black Panthers and the Black Liberation Army.
