American Airlines grounded all of its flights Tuesday afternoon for several hours.

The groundings are a result of a problem with the airline’s reservation system.

The problem was fixed around 3:30 pm.

“American’s reservation system is experiencing intermittent outages,” AA spokeswoman Andrea Huguely said.

Earlier, the airline reported a problem with its reservation and booking tool, noting the network was experiencing “intermittent outages.”

American estimates it flies about 275,000 passengers a day and receives more than 239,000 reservations calls.
