(Memphis)  A Memphis family is lucky to be alive after escaping from their burning home early Monday morning.

The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. at a house in the 1700 block of Southwall Street — which is near Lamar and Semmes.

Firefighters say three people were inside the house when the fire started. They all got out OK before the fire department arrived.

It took firefighters about 15 minutes to put out the flames. The cause is under investigation.
