(Washington, D.C.) Airline passengers are getting a bit grumpier, according to private researchers who analyzed federal information on airline performance.
The study found airlines are shrinking the size of seats so they can squeeze more passengers on the plane, with more and more flights being overbooked.
Last year, consumer complaints to the Transportation Department were up 20%.
But it’s not all bad news.
The report shows airlines are doing a better job of getting planes to and from the gate on time, and are also losing less luggage.
