(CNN) Subaru is recalling 200,000 cars over a potential problem with the brake lines.

The company said salt water could splash on the brake lines and corrode them.

The recall applies to 2005 to 2009 model year Subaru Outbacks and Legacys.

The recall only applies to those that are or were registered in states that salt their roads, which happens mostly in the North.

So far, no incidents have been reported due to the problem.

Subaru said it will contact affected owners and fix the problem for free.
