(Southaven, MS) Crews working to lay cable lines struck a gas line at Moore and Airways Tuesday afternoon.  The force from the break was so strong you could see fumes shooting into the air.

Southaven's Fire Spokeswoman said there were no cut off valves near the line, and the only way to stop the break was to place a patch on top of it. Unfortunately, the part had to be shipped in, a process that took a number of hours.

Some businesses in the area shut down after Police closed Airways Boulevard between Goodman and Chambliss.
