Benton Bust Shuts Down Suspected Dog Fighting Ring

(Benton County, MS) News Channel 3 has learned Benton and Marshall County authorities broke up a suspected dog fighting ring overnight.

It happened about 2am just north of Highway 72 on Steward Road, that’s about ten miles north of Ashland.

Witnesses tell us the bust involved people from several states, a police helicopter and so many arrests, suspects had to go to the Benton County Jail in a school bus.

We’re told Benton and Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies may have booked as many as fifty people into jail.
