Kansas City, MO-La Salle guard Tyrone Garland knocked down a layup with two seconds left to lift the 13th seeded Explorers to a 76-74 win over Ole Miss in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

Ramon Galloway led La Salle with 24 points. 12th seeded Ole Miss led 74-72 with two minutes to go, but couldn’t reach its goal of the sweet sixteen. Rebels guard Marshall Henderson, who led Ole Miss with 21 points, couldn’t get a decent shot off in the final minute before a shotclock violation gave La Salle the ball for the final shot.

Senior Murphy Holloway had 14 points for Ole Miss in his final game as a Rebel. Ole Miss finished the season at 27-9. That ties the school record for most wins in a season.
