(Millington, TN) Local leaders and neighbors want to know how an inmate managed to walk away from the Federal Prison Camp in Millington Sunday Night.

US Marshals are still looking for Travis Ware.

He has served ten years of a seventeen year sentence for a drug conviction.

Lanessa Hall lives right next to the prison.

She says she's used to seeing inmates sneak out of the prison and back in so they don't get in trouble.

She can't understand why it's so easy for them to get out and had no idea an inmate was missing.

" I really think we should be on alert when something happens," said Lanessa Hall.

Shelby County Commissioner Terry Rolland agrees.

Rolland says Monday night the Millington Mayor, Millington Police Department and Shelby County Sheriff's Office still had no idea US Marshals were looking for Ware.

"What I need to do is bring in everybody and have something similar to an Amber Alert where if a prisoner escapes everybody can be notified," said Commissioner Rolland.

Rolland has also talked to Rep. Steve Cohen about security at the prison.

He says even though this is a minimal security prison,  there is no reason anyone should be able to just walk away from the facility.

If you see Ware call your local police or call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
