Three Injured in North Memphis Shooting

(Memphis) Memphis Police are investigating a double shooting that happened Monday morning at 1575 Carpenter.

Police said they three people were talking in a car on Carpenter when two men walked up and began firing.

A male and female were hit by bullets.

Both taken to The MED.

The third person was hit by shattered glass and was treated on scene.

Police found the victims in Kenneth Kelly’s driveway.

“I’m glad I was at work,” said Kelly who did not know the victims or what the shooting was about.

MPD has person of interest in custody but he has not been charged.

“They are going to do what they want to do regardless,” added Kelly.

Just a few blocks away on Stanridge Friday, 3 people were shot. MPD have arrested and charged Nicholas Christian with the shooting.

Neighbors in the north Memphis neighborhood are frustrated but said they feel helpless when it comes to crime.

“I know drugs might have a lot a part of it, but I don’t know about the rest of it,” said Hughey Cunningham.

MPD are searching for the two suspects.
