Man With Shotgun Shot By Police

(Memphis) Memphis Police shot and killed a man armed with a shotgun near a downtown intersection.

Around 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning, police responded to an “armed party” call near the intersection of Mississippi and Danny Thomas.

While investigating the scene they found a man standing in the 400 block of East Georgia with a shotgun.

According to police, “Officers ordered the male to drop the shotgun. The male refused the order given by the officers and fired another round from his weapon. Memphis Police officers returned fire striking the male who was pronounced on the scene. His identity is unknown at this time.”

This investigation is ongoing and the identity of the officers involved will not be released at this time.
