(Memphis) Memphis Police are searching for someone who shot three people near an elementary school in north Memphis.
The shooting happened in the 1500 block of Sandridge off of Chelsea.
Neighbors say a toddler playing with their toy cars just feet away from the scene of a shooting is becoming a common sight in North Memphis.
“We'd like to have it cleaned up again so that we have a good quality neighborhood to live in,” said Bishop Jonathan Prince.
Hollywood Success Academy was put on lockdown because of the shootings one street over.
That lockdown is over, but this is the second time in a few weeks the school needed to activate its emergency plan because of a shooting.
In January three men were shot in a drive by.
Just over a month later the community is seeing a very similar situation.
Three men are at The MED for non-life treating shots and at this point there's not much information about who may have done it.
Robert Sims Runs a barbershop in the neighborhood and is noticing a spike in violence.
“It's just a lot of violence, it's violent. But I'm sure it's everywhere though,” said Sims.
Sims says he notices a heavy police presence in the community, but that doesn't seem to be helping.
“Something's you can't control. You can't be everywhere at one time,” said Sims.
If you have any information on the crime you’re asked to call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH.
