Icy Conditions Slowed Morning Commute
UPDATE 10:34 am: All roads are open at this time.
(Memphis) Memphis police spent the morning warning of icy conditions in Downtown and Midtown.
For a time, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office closed part of Paul Barrett Parkway due to accidents.
The overpass from I-240 northbound onto I-40 westbound was blocked at the Midtown interchange due to a crash involving several vehicles.
Ice was reported at I-240 and Jackson Ave. and on the A.W. Willis/Auction St. Bridge to Mud Island.
For a while, the A.W. Willis/Auction St. Bridge was closed.
Only one lane of westbound I-40 on the Mississippi River bridge was open for several hours after a tractor trailer accident that police say was not weather-related.
