(Memphis) A 16-year-old girl and a 21-year-old security were both injured in a shooting near the Walmart Neighborhood Market grocery store in Hickory Hill late Sunday night.

Memphis Police found the 16-year-old victim outside of the store around 9:45 Sunday night.

The security guard was found a block away at 6099 Appletree.

“I was just sleeping. I heard the gunshots; I heard the sirens, sounds like I heard the police over the loud speaker,” said David Jordan.

MPD reported 250-300 teens in the area because they were turned away from a teen party at Club Zodiac nearby.

“When we reached capacity, we had our courtesy officers to tell every child to leave our lot, call their rides or whatever they needed to do. We are just trying to give back to the community and we are giving them something to do,” said manager at Zodiac Restaurant and Lounge Anita Poplar.

“Everybody told their parents to be up here at 12 o’clock because that’s what time the party end. They put us out the parking lot knowing the party isn’t over with and knowing these people's mom’s are not here,” said one teen.

Memphis Police also reported shooting at the Enclave Apartments nearby.

A 16-year-old male has been charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

Another 16-year-old male was arrested near the Walmart and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Evading Arrest, and Resisting Arrest.

Both the 16 year-old and the security guard are expected to be okay.
