(Memphis) An attack on a gas station manager was caught on tape, and owners are hoping it will help catch the crook.
A man walked into the Hop-in mini-mart, and grabbed a case of beer from the cooler.
When the cashier is distracted, he heads for the door.
But the manager saw his moves and was right on his tail.
“She's like, ‘Hey give me back my beer. At least pay for it’”, said district manager Kathy James.
The man is seen on the tape, hitting the female manager in the face.
He grabbed her purse and high-tailed it out of there.
Customers chased after him but he got away and it wasn't the first time.
James said it's been happening at dozens of hop-in stores all across the metro area. They call police each time but officers never seem to get anywhere.
“We understand there are bigger fish to fry than people stealing beer in this city, but it gets to a point where it's frustrating” said James.
They’re offering a $1000.00 reward and are hoping maybe someone recognizes him or someone with a sudden large amount of cash.
It turns out when the criminal took the managers purse, she had a thousands of dollars inside. It was the bank deposit, for the whole weekend.
