Memphis, TN-News Channel 3 has confirmed the TSSAA has suspended ten basketball players from Ridgeway High and ten from Overton High for two games each for fighting or leaving the bench in a melee Tuesday night. Ridgeway is ranked fourth in the state and is among the favorites to win the state championship in Class AAA. Ridgeway is the top seed in its district tournament that gets underway on Friday night. Ridgeway plays eighth seeded Wooddale with the loser seeing its season come to an end. Ridgeway has only five regular players, but will be allowed to call up guys from the junior varsity to fill out its roster. Most of Ridgeway’s starters avoided suspension. Overton will be without ten players when it opens district play at Germantown on Friday.
