Seven Memphis Police Officers Suspended

(Memphis) Seven Memphis police officers were suspended from duty because of an incident that happened nearly two years ago.

The officers were off-duty at the time and involved in an altercation with two men in the Beale Street area.

The men were accused of creating a disturbance.

The suspects were arrested but reported the off-duty officers used excessive force.

A hearing was held last month and the officers were suspended from four to ten days for their behavior.

The fight happened just one day after Officer Timothy Warren was shot and killed. The fight took place outside the station to which Officer Warren was assigned.
