(Tate County, MS) The Tate County Grand Jury has indicted Todd Brewer on 23 felony counts.

Brewer, a former Boy Scout executive is charged with 5 counts of fondling, 8 counts of sexual battery, and 10 counts of child pornography.

He had no direct contact with scouts.

In July, 2012 the Scouts told us they have no tolerance for these kind of charges.

”He was immediately terminated Friday upon us learning about this. Obviously that’s a situation that’s not tolerable and there was no question that was the right thing to do,” said Local Boy Scout Chief Woody Woodward, who adds the safety of scouts remains their top priority.

Investigators with the Tate County Sheriff’s Office and the Senatobia Police Department arrested Brewer back on July 6, 2012.

Previous report filed by Dennis Turner on July 9, 2012

(Tate County, MS) Investigators have charged William Todd Brewer with two new counts of child sexual battery, based on evidence they obtained in a search warrant late last week.

It’s shocked a lot of people, but not some neighbors, who said they found the situation at Brewer’s Senatobia home, unusual.

”I noticed a lot of kids going over there all house of the day and night a lot of drinking and smoking,” said a neighbor who didn’t want to give her name.

She said young boys always hovered around Todd Brewer’s home and she even saw them smoking marijuana on the front porch as late as last week.

Complaints like that, plus some nearby car break-ins got the attention of Senatobia police and Tate County Sheriff’s Deputies

”The information was detailed enough and there was enough there to get us probable cause to get a search warrant for his house,” said Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance.

They searched the house Thursday afternoon, and found enough to arrest Brewer and charge him with possession of child porn.

Monday, they charged him with sexual battery.

”Right now, we’re at two counts on two different children but we anticipate additional charges,” said Lance.

Brewer worked as a Boy Scout Executive, in charge of coordinating scout leaders in four North Mississippi Counties.

He had no direct contact with scouts.

But the Scouts have no tolerance for these kind of charges.

”He was immediately terminated Friday upon us learning about this. Obviously that’s a situation that’s not tolerable and there was no question that was the right thing to do,” said Local Boy Scout Chief Woody Woodward, who adds the safety of scouts remains their top priority.

Neighbors say they wish someone had caught Brewer earlier.

”When you’re living with an 8-year-old and a 13-year-old. That’s kinda weird when you’re not married and don’t have any kids of your own”.

Brewer remains in the Tate County Jail, while officers continue their investigation.  If found guilty of the charges, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
