Child Held Hostage In Alabama Bunker Freed

(Midland City, AL) A 5-year-old boy who has been held in an underground bunker for a week is safe.

The child was kidnapped from a school bus after the driver was shot dead.

Jimmy Lee Dykes had been holding the child in the bunker, talking with negotiators through a pipe.

Gunshots were heard Monday afternoon and shortly later it was announced Dykes was dead.
