(Memphis)  Memphis Police have finally caught up with the man they believe stole a police cruiser and set it on fire back on New Year’s Day.

31-year-old Issac Porterfield was arrested last night and is being held without bail. He’s facing several charges, including theft, vandalism and assault.

Back on January 1st, officers saw Porterfield and his 15-year-old son stripping a stolen car in a north Memphis neighborhood.

Officers arrested the teenager, but Porterfield fought back, jumped into a police car and sped off. One officer was injured in the scuffle.

The squad car was found burning a few miles away near Jackson and I-240.

Porterfield is due in court on Monday.
